BC, The Best Place On Earth (if you're rich)

| They say BC is the best place on Earth, and if you're filthy rich I suppose they're right. If you're homeless and sleep in the streets, I'm sure it's far from the best place on Earth. I was walking home again today (I do that alot) and couldn't help but notice this on the corner near my place. Believe it or not I took this shot standing in almost the exact same spot as the pictures I took yesterday, just facing the opposite direction. I noticed this homeless man first, just standing on the corder with a shopping cart and tarp covering it all (it rains alot in Vancouver). Just after I noticed this man, I also noticed one of Vancouver's countless affluent residents driving by in his beautiful Bentley Continental GTC. I couldn't help but feel a sense of confusion... Simple because I've become to accustomed to this scene everyday in my town. It seems like everyday you see more and more BMW's, Porsche's and expensive cars along with more and more homeless people. I guess all that money has to come from someplace! BC, the Best Place on Earth (if you're rich)! |

Just Another Day in Vancouver's West End

| So today I'm walking home from work and just rounding the corner towards my apartment when I see this homeless guy being helped out by a couple of women. The guy has some blood on his head and is explaining his story to the ladies. I get to my apartment a few minutes later and I heard this lady screaming like crazy and then I hear all these police scirens. I come back out to find the homeless guy lifeless on the pavement with blood pouring out of his head. Finaly the paramedics come and help him out. I live downtown Vancouver and this is basically a daily occurance in my city. This place really has gone to the dogs... |
